Cawdor Deli

Yeah, the shop was alright, had nice food. But, I was much more impressed by the door! The door had a metal handle that was nice and cold from the winter air and really easy to turn! As I was opening the door, it slid ajar smoothly and fluently, then a bell attached to the door rang to notify the staff. I mean, if you're willing to put SO MUCH EFFORT into making the door as easy-to-use as possible, you know the shop is going to be good. After opening and closing the door a couple times, I then left.

Delicious soup, sandwiches and fancy pieces! Stopped for lunch after visiting Cawdor Castle the weekend of the rat race and we had the place to ourselves bang on 12.30pm! Beautiful day so we sat outside. Generous portions at a good price

Amazing transformation into deli with small general store. The sandwiches and cakes are delicious and you can eat inside or outside. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This is highly recommended deli to visit and try some cakes.

I've passed this cafe/deli multiple times over the years, but until today had never stopped. Thanks to a friend being waylaid I finally had an excuse to pop in and have a coffee while I waited for them. A nice clean, bright and well stocked deli shop, with a good choice of foods to have along with a well made flat white. Probably the best Bakewell tart that I've had. I had a quick chat with the new owner who was very welcoming and chatty. I honestly thought he had been doing this for years, but had only taken over the business a couple of months back. Well worth a stop.

We stopped by just as they were closing, but Bruce (the new owner) was incredibly kind and still made us a really good cappuccino. Great service and a warm welcome, looking forward to coming back!

We stopped here for a late lunch after touring the castle, and I’m so glad we did! There is a free parking lot close by and a short walk to the shop. Bruce (the new owner, who was so delightfully friendly!!) made us two fresh ham and chicken sandwiches with spicy mustard on some delicious sourdough bread from the local bakery. We really enjoyed the sandwiches with a bag of chips and pop from the shop while getting to sit at the picnic tables outside. Definitely recommend for anyone in the area!

Went for a wee drive and ended up at the Cawder Deli. We'll decorated friendly cafe with local produce and crafts on display. Great selection of delicious soup sandwiches pies etc at a reasonable price. Staff very polite and pleasant. Took away a delicious home made scones which was reduced if you take out. Very good . We will be back I am sure.
